Standard operators stop where local routes begin. We live on those routes and work from them.

Field note

Sikumut coordinates field operations across North and East Greenland, from cruise logistics and scientific field support to film production and tailored journeys. Every project runs through long-standing relationships with hunters, local operators, and communities, built through years of presence in the field.

Signals from the ice

01

The weather decides.

Plans matter. Sila matters more. We build operations that can change without falling apart.

02

The network comes first.

Boats, sleds, tents, permits, routes, translators, and local fixers all come after trust. Local knowledge cannot be hired overnight.

03

Terms follow the people carrying the work.

When communities make the work possible, they must also help shape the terms.

04

Small groups. Serious ground.

Scale is not always strength. In these regions, trusted coverage matters more than volume.

05

The route is not promised.

Ice, weather, fuel, daylight, dogs, boats, and local judgement decide what can run.

06

Certainty cannot be imported

We do not pretend certainty from a distance. We ask the people who know the routes.

07

The place is not a backdrop.

These are lived communities, not scenery around someone else’s expedition.

08

Trust moves before logistics.

When conditions change, the useful answer comes from relationships already in place.

Where the map gets thin, the network matters.
